Mexico is bordered by Belize and Guatemala on the south and the United States on the north. Baja California in the west is an 800 mile long peninsula and forms the Gulf of California.
The center of Mexico is a great , high plateau with mountains on the east and west, and ocean front lowlands lying outside of them.
The Yucatan Peninsula, which forms The Bay of Campeche comprises the southeastern corner of Mexico .
Mexico is rich in history as at least three great civilizations- The Maya, the Olmecs, and the Toltecs, proceeded the wealthy Aztec Empire.
Having conquered the Aztecs in 1519, the Spanish ruled Mexico for the next 300 years until Set. 16th 1810, when the Mexicans first revolted. They eventually won their independence in 1821.
